Peta2's Vegan Report Card
October 30, 2017

vegan report cardFall 2017 grades for Peta2's Vegan Report Card are out and Utica College dining services received an A+ letter grade.

This year, more than 1,400 universities across the US were surveyed. Seventy percent of them now offer at least one vegan option on their dining hall menu, and 19 percent now have all vegan dining stations - by comparison with just 9 percent in 2016.

New research shows that as people perceive that the norms concerning eating are shifting, they're more likely to change their own eating habits. Vegan eating is presented as "normal" through entertainment, the availability of vegan options at fast-food restaurants, and your own signage, and all of that has led to 6 percent of Americans now identifying as vegan - a six fold growth in three short years.

Utica College will continue to offer cruelty-free options to students and make sure that Utica College is on the forefront of this shift toward more sustainable, healthy and vegan food options.
